Serenade To Ajoke – Poem By Solomon Temitope
Your charm is not a-joke.
Your name frees me from all shackles – No choking effect;
Leaving my nakedness in cloaks.
Today on your twenty,
I pray the lord would bless you with joy in plenty.
Your jar of blessings would never go empty,
And like a bouncer, your grace shall be hefty.
In a twinkle time flies –
What happens to be like yeast yesterday –
Blessed, glorious, and wonderful – the day you were birthed.
You took our tears away
With he nine months price you defray.
Ajoke ku ojo ibi (Ajoke Happy birthday)
Akoya ire, afoya ibi (meet with good and not evil)
Long life and prosperity
You’ll always be on-top of the gravity – forever would you soar higher.
