My Love For Love – Poem By Solomon Temitope
If love is bondage,
Then spare me freedom.
If a cage is her treasured weapon,
Then let me make it my kingdom.
For fully did she catch me in her web,
At the spot where help is scared to come –
She’s brought me to a step
Where the degree of my love has no chance for ebb.
She’s no stranger.
Her name is love;
Her character, gentle as a dove.
Perching on the still tree
Beckoning to sing sweet songs for me…
My love for her love is burning
Fiercer than a Bunsen burner;
Fiercer than the scorching of the sun…
My love for her love
Is fiercer than love itself.
