We’re pleased to announce the judges for League Of Wordsmiths 2018.
The Judges unlike last year’s contest, are drawn from a locality – Nigeria, and consists of poets, prosaists, and playwrights.
The judges for League Of Wordsmiths 2018 in no particular order are:

Iquo DianaAbasi writes prose, poetry and scripts for radio and screen. She often performs her poems with a touch of culture-rich Ibibio folklore.
Her first collection of poems, Symphony of Becoming, was shortlisted for the NLNG Nigeria prize for literature, and the ANA poetry prize; both in 2013. It has also been shortlisted for the Woke Soyinka Prize for Literature.
She is an alumnus of Fidelity Bank’s International Creative Writing Workshop, and was writer in residence at the Ebedi International Writers Residency In 2013.
An avid student of human nature, Iquo’s writing explores socially cognizant themes, pain, love, womanhood and trials of the griots of this age.
Her writings appear in Kalahari review, Saraba magazine, ANA Review, AfricaInWords and Olisa.tv. She has been featured in several poetry anthologies.
Stages she has graced include: Lagos International Poetry Festival, Ake Arts and Book Festival, The Big60 Cultural Exchange, Wole Soyinka @80, Lagos Black Heritage Festival, The Macmillan Literary night, PLAY Poetry Festival, Word slam, The Lagos Poetry Festival, Word and Sound.
The mother of two resides in Lagos where she has just completed work on a collection of short fiction which is expected to hit stores by early 2019. She is also writing a second volume of poetry.
• Rasaq Malik
Rasaq Malik is a graduate of the University of Ibadan. He believes we can change the world through words.
• Umar Yogiza Jr
Umar Yogiza Jr Is a Poet and Builder residing in Abuja. He is from Giza, Nasarawa State. He study Building Technology from Akwaibom Polytechnics, Literary and Creative Studies from Wales Open University, United Kingdom. Human Psychology from Islamic University online. He is the Author of instrument of immortality 2017, The Way Of My Heart 2018, Singing in a Bonfire 2018. He is the winner of Atlanta Black Street Poetry Prize 2017. The founder of Free Poetic Universe— an online poetry group. He is the trustee of Center for Empowerment of Indigent and Incarcerated Citizens.
Asamoah-Ojugbana Jeffrey is a young boy who writes under the pseudonym, Vasily Mikhailovich Doestovski. He has poems published on Brittle Paper, Tuck magazine and Aceworld.
Entries for League Of Wordsmiths 2018 became open on the 12th of November 2018, and slated to close today, 25th of November 2018.
Final contestants in the League Of Wordsmiths 2018 would be released on the 30th of November, 2018. While the league begins proper on the 9th of December and ends 23rd of December, 2018.
It promises to be loads of fun!
